A New Dog Park is Coming to Land Park Help Decide the Location

The Department of Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment (YPCE) is hosting a community open house on October 23, 2024, at Belle Cooledge Library to choose the location for a new dog park in William Land Park. With input from over 1,600 residents gathered through a summer survey, the event aims to ensure the new park meets the needs of local dog owners and their pets. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss survey findings, weigh location options, and vote for their preferred site.

City activates cooling centers Oct. 1-3

The City of Sacramento is activating cooling centers in response to a heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service from October 1-2, 2024. Residents can seek relief at the Outreach and Engagement Center and the Sam & Bonnie Pannell Community Center, with services including air-conditioning, water, and charging stations. No-cost transportation is also available through a partnership with Regional Transit.
