RV stolen from Auburn couple recovered, 2 men charged with theft
Two men, David Anello and Jason Frack, have been charged with theft after stealing an RV parked outside a Tacoma gas station on Thanksgiving. The RV was later found abandoned and returned to its owners, Rosie and Scott Butcher, but unfortunately, it was returned in a heavily damaged state. Currently, the Butchers are without their home and are temporarily staying with family as they navigate the challenges of repairing their RV. To support their recovery, an online fundraiser has been established, allowing friends and community members to contribute. The Puget Sound Auto Theft Task Force was instrumental in recovering the stolen RV and even covered the impound fees.
Anello, known for his extensive criminal history, has been arrested 52 times and has over 20 felony convictions, making his identification by detectives relatively swift. If he fails to appear for his scheduled arraignment, a warrant will be issued for his arrest, further complicating his already lengthy criminal record. This incident underscores ongoing concerns about vehicle theft and its impact on local families in Tacoma.
