In Tacoma, Washington, corrections deputy Cameron Boucher has been charged with vehicular assault after a disturbing incident on New Year's Day. Boucher, 22, allegedly ran over his ex-girlfriend's head in a parking lot after leaving the Steel Creek Bar, where he had been drinking heavily. According to probable cause documents, the incident occurred around 1:50 a. m. Witnesses reported that Boucher reversed his truck over the victim's head and subsequently engaged in a physical altercation with her friends who attempted to help her.

Authorities confirmed that Boucher was visibly intoxicated, with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit, and he failed a sobriety test at the scene. The victim sustained serious injuries, including multiple facial fractures, and was hospitalized. Despite the charges, Boucher remains employed with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, having been hired just months prior. His bail was set at $75,000, which he has since posted, allowing for his release.
