West Hollywood Hosts Holiday Events for LGBTQ+ Youth
The City of West Hollywood invites LGBTQ+ youth aged 14-24 to join the C. I. T. Y. x1 Youth Group's Pre-Thanksgiving and holiday dinner events from November 22 to December 8, 2024.
These events aim to support at-risk and homeless youth through meal distributions at local encampments and a Thanksgiving Eve gathering at QQ Café. The highlight will be the _Tamale Wars_ dinner on December 8, featuring food, dancing, and performances to foster community engagement. Established in 2005, C. I. T.
Y. x1 connects LGBTQ+ youth with essential services, including job training and medical assistance. The City has partnered with the group since 2009, providing financial and volunteer support. The events will be alcohol and tobacco-free, creating a safe alternative to club culture, and historically serve hundreds of meals to those in need. For more information, community members can reach out via phone or email.
