West Hollywood Celebrates Winter with Art and Poetry Initiatives
West Hollywood is ushering in the winter holiday season with a vibrant celebration featuring artist-designed street pole banners and a Holiday Poetry Hotline. This year's artwork, created by Daniel Sulzberg, aims to beautify the city while showcasing local talent. Alongside the visual art, City Poet Laureate Jen Cheng has launched a Holiday Poetry Hotline from December 1 to December 31, where community members can listen to prerecorded poems designed to uplift spirits during winter. The hotline features contributions from notable poets and includes a live reading event on December 21 for personalized poetic expressions. Cheng will also lead a poetry writing workshop on December 7, welcoming participants of all skill levels.
This celebration enhances the city's atmosphere and fosters community engagement through the arts, underscoring West Hollywood's commitment to supporting local artists and promoting cultural enrichment.
