City of West Hollywood Promotes National Voter Registration Day and Upcoming Election
The City of West Hollywood is actively participating in National Voter Registration Day on September 17, 2024, to encourage local residents to register and engage in the democratic process. This initiative aims to boost voter registration rates in preparation for the General Municipal Election on November 5, 2024, with the registration deadline set for October 21, 2024. Citizens can verify their registration status or sign up to vote via the LA County Registrar-Recorder Clerk’s website. The City Clerk’s office initiated community outreach by hosting a voter registration event at the Helen Albert Certified Farmers’ Market on September 16, 2024, and the City Council issued a proclamation emphasizing the critical role of voter registration in democracy. A Voter Information meeting is scheduled for October 5, 2024, at the City’s Council Chambers, where attendees can register to vote and learn more about the election.
In this upcoming election, two City Council seats and one ballot measure will be contested. All active registered voters will automatically receive a vote-by-mail ballot, which the LA County elections office will begin mailing on October 7, 2024. The City of West Hollywood’s elections page provides comprehensive information and resources regarding the election process.
