After slamming Cuba, Hurricane Rafael to head west across the Gulf of Mexico
Hurricane Rafael, a Category 2 storm, is expected to move slowly west across the Gulf of Mexico after making landfall in Cuba as a Category 3 hurricane. Forecasters predict that unfavorable conditions in the Gulf could weaken the storm by the time it approaches Mexico on Sunday. The National Hurricane Center has warned of potential life-threatening surf and rip current conditions throughout the Gulf.
