Silverdale Christmas tree lighting set for Saturday, Nov. 30
On Saturday, Nov. 30, Silverdale will celebrate its 65th annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, a beloved local tradition from 2 p. m. to 5 p. m.
The event will feature the lighting of the world’s tallest living Christmas tree, an impressive 131 feet tall. Festivities include free tractor hayrides, caroling, and a scavenger hunt. New this year are booths in the Silverdale Antique parking lot with craft vendors, cookies, cider, face painting, and food. At 4:15 p. m.
, the Brownsville Elementary School Choir will perform, leading to Santa's grand arrival at 4:45 p. m. , escorted by a Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue truck. The countdown to light the tree will take place at 5 p. m.
Longtime Silverdale Rotarian Harry Guay will portray Santa, delighting the community's children. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to support local charities by donating to Toys for Tots and the Central Kitsap Food Bank.
