Formation flight will pay tribute to area hospital workers Friday afternoon

The Northwest BeechBoys Formation Demonstration Team is organizing a tribute flight on Friday afternoon to honor local healthcare workers engaged in the fight against COVID-19 in Silverdale and Bremerton. This special aerial salute will cover multiple hospitals on the Kitsap Peninsula, including St. Anthony Hospital, Harrison Medical Center, and the Naval hospital, as well as the Bremerton Naval Shipyard, pending approval. Jim Posner, team leader, emphasized the significance of this tribute, with hospital administrators expressing excitement about the recognition. The flight is expected to last about an hour, beginning at Bremerton National Airport, with the BeechBoys flying at approximately 1,500 feet and performing grand turns during their passes.

The planes will be organized in formations resembling an arrow and a diamond, showcasing the teamwork and skill of the pilots. This event serves as a poignant reminder of the essential work performed by medical professionals during these unprecedented times.
