Data Report How the City Responded to Homelessness Sept. 30-Oct. 6
The City of Sacramento's weekly progress report from September 30 to October 6 reveals the ongoing efforts of the Incident Management Team (IMT) in tackling homelessness. The city received 669 calls to its 311 customer service line regarding unsheltered individuals, successfully resolving 425 of these cases through various means, including direct intervention and compliance checks. Outreach staff from the Department of Community Response played a crucial role by enrolling 84 individuals into shared databases that facilitate access to shelters and resources. During this period, 19 people were placed in the Roseville Road campus or the Outreach and Engagement Center, showcasing the city's proactive approach to homelessness. Furthermore, the city undertook an extensive cleanup operation, removing over 170,200 pounds of trash from streets and public spaces.
The IMT's collaborative efforts, including compliance measures enforced by the Sacramento Police Department's IMPACT team, led to 12 instances of compliance regarding issues like unlawful camping and sidewalk obstructions. The city also maintains a data dashboard for public transparency, allowing residents to track the IMT's progress over time. This comprehensive response underscores Sacramento's commitment to addressing the homelessness crisis effectively.
