City activates weather-respite centers Dec. 12-15

The City of Sacramento is activating weather-respite operations from December 12 to December 15 due to forecasts of consecutive rainy days. The Outreach and Engagement Center (OEC) will be available from 1 p. m. Thursday through 8 a. m.

Sunday, with the capacity to accommodate 50 guests and allowing pets. In contrast, the North 5th Street Navigation Center will operate nightly from 8 p. m. to 6 a. m.

, offering shelter for 20 adults, though pets are not permitted. Additional weather-respite locations include local libraries and community centers, which will remain open during their regular hours. The City has partnered with Regional Transit to provide no-cost transportation to and from these centers, ensuring accessibility for all community members.
