Data Report How the City Responded to Homelessness Dec. 16-22
The City of Sacramento's Incident Management Team (IMT) has released a comprehensive report detailing its actions in response to homelessness for the week of December 16-22, 2024. During this period, the city received 655 calls related to unsheltered individuals, demonstrating the ongoing challenges faced by the community. The IMT successfully closed 1,021 cases, showing a proactive approach to resolving issues as they arise. Outreach efforts led to the enrollment of 85 individuals in local databases that connect them with available shelters and resources, while 35 individuals were placed at the Roseville Road campus and the Outreach and Engagement Center. As of December 24, shelter availability was limited, with only two Pallet homes and 19 spaces at the Outreach and Engagement Center.
The city also undertook significant waste cleanup, removing 156,220 pounds of trash from public areas. This report not only highlights the immediate response to homelessness but also provides a transparent view of the city's ongoing efforts to support vulnerable populations. The data dashboard maintained by the city allows the public to track progress, ensuring accountability and community engagement.
