Police hunt arsonists who lit Queensland home on fire three nights in a row
In a disturbing series of events, organized crime investigators are pursuing two individuals believed to have set fire to a Gold Coast home in Main Beach for three consecutive nights, from December 28 to December 30. The suspects were allegedly using a stolen silver Mitsubishi Outlander and were captured on CCTV dousing the property with fuel from a distinctively branded, red jerry can. QPS detective inspector Craig Bowman emphasized that this jerry can could be pivotal in leading to the suspects' capture. The urgency of the investigation is underscored by the fact that the fires occurred late at night, between 11 PM and 11:30 PM, when residents were likely at home. Police are appealing to the public for information regarding anyone who may have sold or filled similar jerry cans in the area prior to the incidents.
Despite the ongoing investigation, authorities have not revealed any potential motive behind these alarming acts of arson. The community's engagement is crucial in this case, as detectives ramp up their efforts to unmask the suspects. This incident raises significant concerns about safety and the prevalence of organized crime in the region.
