City Buildings to Close to the Public - City of Edmonds, WA

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds has decided to close City Hall and other public buildings in response to a significant increase in COVID-19 cases within Snohomish County, effective September 3rd. Mayor Nelson emphasized the necessity of prioritizing public safety during this challenging time, despite the potential inconvenience to residents. While physical access to these buildings is restricted, city staff will continue to support residents through email, phone, and online services, ensuring that essential functions remain operational. The Edmonds Police Department's business office will be closed, but the public can still access emergency services via phones located at the department's entrances. Utility payments can be processed online or dropped off at a secure location at City Hall.

The Frances Anderson Center will also close, canceling indoor recreation programming for September and October, although outdoor activities will still be permitted. Moreover, all city council and commission meetings will revert back to Zoom, facilitating continued civic engagement.
