8th grade Edmonds-Woodway girls feeder program wins Wesco championship
The Edmonds-Woodway girls basketball team from the Class of 2029 capped off a perfect season by winning the Wesco 8th grade girls championship with a solid 49-34 win against Arlington. Coach Matt Manning highlighted the team's remarkable performance, noting their early 30-point lead in the fourth quarter, fueled by a barrage of 3-pointers and fast-break scoring. This weekend alone, the Warriors outscored their opponents by a staggering 168 to 83, showcasing their offensive prowess and teamwork. The team featured a balanced attack, with key contributions from players like Amara Leckie, Amelia Faber, Amina Mandac, and Alyssa Rincon. Over the past four years, the Class of 2029 has consistently excelled, taking home league championships in both 5th and 7th grades before their recent triumph.
