Manson School District Board revisits Economy Efficiency Waiver, 4-day student school week

Chelan, WALocal News

The Manson School Board is revisiting the Economy Efficiency Waiver to explore the possibility of transitioning to a 4-day school week for the 2025-2026 academic year. Initially considered in spring 2024, the board opted against applying at that time due to concerns raised by students, staff, and the community. To facilitate informed discussions, stakeholders can find detailed resources on the district’s website, including a Q&A document and an informational flyer. A survey was distributed on April 11, allowing community members to share their perspectives on this significant change. If the board chooses to proceed, they will invite public comments at the upcoming April 28 board meeting.

Superintendent Tabatha Mires emphasizes the critical role of stakeholder feedback, stating, “Your feedback will play a crucial role in shaping the decision-making process. ” This community-driven approach aims to ensure any changes are in the best interests of students and families. As the decision date approaches, additional resources will be made available to keep stakeholders informed.
