Chelan County is buzzing with spring cleanup activities, as crews from five road districts embark on essential maintenance tasks like brushing, brooming, and cleaning culverts. The Entiat District crew was recently spotted re-establishing ditches in Crum Canyon, a vital effort to maintain proper drainage. If weather conditions are favorable, crack sealing on Mission Creek Road is set to begin, which may result in one-lane traffic in affected areas. Haulers should note that seasonal weight restrictions are now enforced, requiring permits for vehicles over 34,000 pounds to be submitted by 10 a. m.

Monday through Thursday. Additionally, several roads popular among recreationists remain closed until April 1, including sections of Burch Mountain and Horse Lake roads. Residents are encouraged to remain patient as these roads will soon reopen. The coordinated efforts of the county’s public works teams aim to enhance road safety and accessibility for all. This seasonal maintenance is crucial for ensuring that the county’s infrastructure can handle the demands of both residents and visitors alike.
