Runners in 2025 United Airlines NYC Half will cross Brooklyn Bridge for first time
The 2025 United Airlines NYC Half will make a historic change by incorporating a crossing of the Brooklyn Bridge into its race course, as announced by the New York Road Runners. This decision comes in response to ongoing construction on South Street in Manhattan, which has rendered the previous route over the Manhattan Bridge unfeasible. For the first time in NYRR history, participants will experience the scenic views of the Brooklyn Bridge, enhancing their race experience. Runners will navigate a new path upon reaching Flatbush Avenue and Tillary Street in Brooklyn, turning left onto Tillary and right onto Brooklyn Bridge Boulevard to cross the bridge. After crossing, they will exit onto the FDR Drive in Manhattan, continuing their journey to the finish line in Central Park.
The updated course promises to provide a fresh and exciting challenge for participants. The NYRR plans to release detailed course maps and street closure information soon, ensuring that runners and spectators are well-informed. This change not only reflects the adaptability of the event but also highlights the ongoing developments in New York City infrastructure.
