West Hollywood Election Results: Council Candidates Lead and Measure WH Passes

The City of West Hollywood has released semi-final results from its General Municipal Election held on November 5, 2024. According to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, the City Council race is currently led by John M. Erickson with 6,440 votes and Danny Hang with 4,829 votes. These results are preliminary, as the counting of outstanding ballots is ongoing. Voters have also approved Measure WH, which ensures that a portion of any future sales tax imposed by regional authorities will be redirected back to West Hollywood to support essential services.

With a total of 26,036 registered voters, the certification of final results is expected by December 3, 2024. Newly elected council members will be sworn in at a City Council meeting on December 16, 2024, where the council will also reorganize and elect a new Mayor and Vice Mayor, with further meetings scheduled for January 2025.
