City of West Hollywood to Host Fall 2024 ‘Civic Leadership Academy’
The City of West Hollywood is inviting residents and community members to join its Fall 2024 Civic Leadership Academy, which will begin on September 18 and end on November 20. Responding to a community desire for better understanding of local governance, this program launched in Spring 2024 and aims to educate participants on the operations of the city government. The Academy will host approximately 25 individuals in a series of weekly in-person learning sessions, providing insights into city policies and services. Each session will feature a mix of workshops, roundtables, and lectures, promoting open discussions and collaboration among attendees. Participants will also have opportunities to engage with city leaders and community service organizations, fostering networking and knowledge-sharing.
Those who successfully complete at least eight sessions will earn a Certificate of Completion, recognizing their commitment to civic involvement. Interested individuals can find more information and apply through the City’s website, with applications being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The program is designed to cultivate an informed and engaged community, empowering participants to influence local governance effectively.
