City of West Hollywood to Observe ‘Bi+ Visibility Week’ September 16 through 23
The City of West Hollywood is set to honor Bi+ Visibility Week from September 16 to 23, 2024, with numerous initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and support for the Bisexual+ community. On the opening day, the city will illuminate its street lanterns and City Hall in the iconic pink, purple, and blue colors of the Bisexual+ Pride flag. Throughout the week, Bisexual+ Pride flags will be displayed prominently in various locations, including City Hall and Plummer Park. A major event during this week is the free outdoor celebration scheduled for September 22, 2024, at Plummer Park, inviting the bisexual+ community and allies to enjoy a day filled with music, performances, and wellness activities. Participants can expect a music set from DJ Michael Ian, a Drag Queen performance, and opportunities for free Yoga and Zumba classes.
Community partners will also provide vital resources, with booths set up for organizations like AmBi and the LA Bi+ Task Force. Furthermore, the LA County Public Health Department will offer free flu and Mpox vaccinations on-site. This week-long observance demonstrates West Hollywood's ongoing dedication to LGBTQ advocacy and its influential role in promoting equality and inclusiveness.
