Tulare native suffers traumatic brain injury in Sacramento

Visalia, CALocal News

Emily Meneses, a 19-year-old student at Sacramento State, is in critical condition following a traumatic brain injury from an electric scooter crash in Sacramento. The accident happened when she collided with a parked car just minutes from her home after finishing work. Her sister, Nina Sanchez, expressed the family's distress, noting they feared for Emily's life as they rushed to the hospital. Thankfully, Emily's roommate had been tracking her location and alerted the family when she stopped moving. Emily, originally from Tulare, has no memory of the accident but does recall her morning routine before heading to work.

Doctors anticipate a long recovery process, which has prompted her mother, a single farmworker, to stay by her side rather than go to work. To help with the financial burden of medical expenses, Sanchez has initiated a GoFundMe campaign. The family is grateful for the support received thus far as they navigate this challenging time.
