Tukwila Invites Community Participation in Environmental Initiatives and Governance
Starting January 9th and running through April 19th, 2018, the Tukwila Community Center will offer free tax preparation services to local residents every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This initiative, facilitated by the United Way of King County, is specifically designed for households with annual incomes below $66,000, excluding those with more complex tax returns involving business taxes, rental income, or sales of property or stocks. The program aims to alleviate the anxiety that often accompanies tax season, providing much-needed support to low-income families. Trained volunteers will assist eligible participants, ensuring accurate and efficient filing of their tax returns. Such community services are vital in promoting financial stability among residents, especially during tax time.
By utilizing local resources, Tukwila demonstrates its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its citizens. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this valuable service, which not only saves them money but also fosters a sense of community engagement. This initiative reflects the city’s proactive approach to addressing the needs of its residents in a challenging economic climate.
