Tokyo, TokyoLocal News

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is set to launch "Godzilla: Attack on Tokyo! " a year-long projection-mapping display that celebrates the 70th anniversary of the iconic monster. This event has been certified by Guinness World Records™ as the largest architectural projection-mapped display and will take place on the TMG No. 1 Building, transforming it into a vibrant canvas of light and sound. The program will showcase a dramatic scene featuring a 100-meter tall Godzilla, known from the "VS Series," battling against the modified "Super X2" weapon.

Screenings will occur on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, starting April 27, 2024. This initiative aims to revitalize Tokyo's nightlife and enhance its tourism appeal through high-quality artistic presentations. Godzilla's deep-rooted connection to Shinjuku, highlighted by past film appearances and a local statue, further enriches the event's significance. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government hopes that this project will create a new tourism resource that captivates both locals and visitors alike. With innovative technology at its core, "Godzilla: Attack on Tokyo!
