Tokyo Metropolitan Government Signs Startup Support Memorandum of Understanding with Startup Island TAIWAN and National Innovation Agency, Thailand

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) has recently signed two significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing its startup ecosystem through international collaboration. The agreements were established with Startup Island TAIWAN and Thailand’s National Innovation Agency (NIA), marking TMG’s first international partnership with government-affiliated innovation organizations. Signed on May 16 and May 17, 2024, these MoUs are part of TMG's broader “Global Innovation with STARTUPS” strategy, which seeks to foster connections with key international players in the startup field. As part of the collaboration, TMG and its partners will work together to strengthen startup ecosystems and facilitate mutual promotion of entrepreneurial initiatives. Future plans include hosting a “Startup Summit” in Tokyo in September 2024, which aims to bring together innovators from Japan and Taiwan.

Additionally, TMG representatives will participate in the Techsauce Global Summit 2024 in Bangkok, scheduled for August. These initiatives highlight Tokyo's commitment to creating a vibrant startup environment by leveraging international partnerships. This concerted effort is expected to pave the way for enhanced innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
