The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Begins Accepting Applications from Candidate Companies for the Subsidy for Attracting GX-related Foreign Companies to the Tokyo Market (FY 2024)

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) has initiated its “GX-Related Foreign Company Tokyo Market Entry Support Program” for fiscal year 2024, aimed at attracting foreign firms with advanced technology in the Green Transformation (GX) sector. This program is part of TMG's broader efforts to realize a decarbonized society and facilitate sustainable recovery. Companies that establish new operations in Tokyo are encouraged to apply, with a focus on those possessing high-level technological capabilities. The application deadline is set for July 12, 2024, with selected companies to be announced in September. Subsidies provided through the program can reach up to 50 million yen in the first fiscal year and are available for a total of four years, gradually decreasing in amount.

The support will also include various forms of assistance to help companies establish and expand their businesses in Tokyo. This initiative reflects TMG's commitment to fostering innovation and enhancing the city's status as a global financial and startup hub.
