The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has officially opened applications for the "RAINBOW BRIDGE RIDE 2024," a unique cycling event scheduled for December 1, 2024. This event invites participants to cycle across the picturesque Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Gate Bridge, offering a choice of distances to cater to various skill levels. The courses include a long route of approximately 35km, a middle route of 19km, and a shorter 8km option, making it accessible to both seasoned cyclists and newcomers. General public applications can be submitted from July 19 until September 16, 2024, with a lottery system in place if the number of applicants exceeds available spots. Residents of Minato City and Koto City will have a preferential selection process.

VIP participants will enjoy guaranteed entry and exclusive benefits, with applications opening on July 26. The event is designed for enjoyment rather than competition, featuring scenic routes with challenging uphill sections. Participants are encouraged to use bicycles with multiple gears or electric power-assist systems, and rental options are available for an additional fee.
