The first stage of Waiting for EDOHAKU will open in Kinshicho!
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, will unveil "Anywhere EDOHAKU," a free public event scheduled for August 16 to August 18, 2024, at Olinas Kinshicho. This event is part of the "Waiting for EDOHAKU" initiative, which seeks to keep the community engaged while the Edo-Tokyo Museum undergoes major renovations, expected to be completed in Fiscal 2025. The event will feature a range of interactive cultural exhibits and experiences, showcasing the rich heritage of the Edo era. Attendees can look forward to activities such as jumbo paper sumo battles, where participants can choose their favorite paper wrestler, and traditional Edo food stalls offering sushi and soba. Children and adults alike will have the chance to play with Edo-era toys and enjoy digital experiences through the Hyper Edohaku game app.
With free entry, the event aims to attract families and foster a deeper appreciation for Edo-Tokyo's history and culture. This initiative not only serves as an engaging community event but also builds anticipation for the museum's future reopening. For more details, visit the official event website.
