Paralympians Dazzle With Competitive Demonstrations! TOKYO PARASPORTS FORWARD to be held on

On September 22, 2024, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will host the TOKYO PARASPORTS FORWARD event at Bellesalle Akihabara, providing an interactive experience for spectators interested in parasports. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness demonstrations of 3x3 wheelchair basketball and para archery, as well as participate in nine other parasports activities. The event will also feature a Special Stage hosted by Goro Inagaki, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, and Shingo Katori, who will engage with Paralympians in a talk show setting. Interested participants can apply for the Special Stage until August 31, with a lottery system in place for 280 guests. Additional features include exhibitions showcasing assistive technologies like white canes and prosthetic legs, alongside appearances by the Tokyo 2020 mascots Miraitowa and Someity.

The event aims to foster a spirit of inclusivity and celebrate the legacy of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. A new stage production will also be announced, continuing the momentum generated by the previous games. This initiative comes as the world gears up for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, emphasizing the importance of parasports in society.
