A tropical storm is expected to form in the Gulf of Mexico soon. The next name on the list is Helene. It's expected to strengthen into a hurricane as it moves north in the eastern Gulf, eventually making landfall along the Gulf Coast around Thursday evening. Rain and wind impacts will begin around Tampa Bay on Wednesday, with worsening conditions and dangerous storm surge possible beginning Thursday.
