The collision occurred on November 16 when Velasquez's red Dodge Charger struck a 19-year-old man who was riding his bike on State Road 674. Eyewitnesses and vehicle debris left at the scene allowed law enforcement to track down Velasquez, who later turned herself in after receiving a tip from CrimeStoppers. The victim, originally from Guatemala, was taken to an area hospital but unfortunately died from his injuries.
