The City of Tampa is on the lookout for residents to join the newly established Natural Resources Advisory Committee (NRAC), which will consist of eleven members representing various professions like certified arborists, engineers, and developers. This committee is a key component of the Urban Forest Management Plan, aimed at maximizing and protecting the urban forest's benefits. Members, who must be city residents, will provide valuable guidance and input throughout the plan's implementation and monitoring phases. The NRAC will hold at least two meetings per year, with additional meetings scheduled as needed based on the plan's updates. Interested individuals can apply via the city's application portal, which remains open until the end of November 2024, with appointments to be finalized by the end of the year.

This initiative underscores the city's dedication to environmental stewardship and engaging local stakeholders. It highlights the importance of diverse professional insights in enhancing the community's natural resources. By participating in this committee, residents can play a crucial role in shaping Tampa's urban forest management policies.
