Pasco students learn about robotic surgery technology
Pasco County students from Mitchell High School, Marchman Technical College, and Wendell Krinn Technical High School had the opportunity to engage with robotic surgical technology at an open house held at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital. The hands-on event allowed students to operate some of the advanced surgical equipment and learn about essential lung health topics. Medical professionals, including Dr. Mathew Ninan, a general surgeon who regularly utilizes robotics in his surgeries, provided insights into the technology's significance in modern medicine. The event was organized in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast as part of their healthcare career week initiative, aimed at inspiring teens to explore careers in healthcare.
During the event, attendees learned about the detrimental effects of smoking and vaping on lung health, reinforcing the importance of health education. The integration of cutting-edge technology into health education is crucial as the medical field continues to evolve. This initiative not only supports student learning but also connects them to real-world applications of their studies. Overall, it highlights the importance of fostering interest in health careers among the younger generation.
