Red Bull Flugtag Traffic Information

Tampa Bay, FLLocal News

Red Bull Flugtag is set to make its exciting return to Tampa on November 9th, where creativity, engineering, and fun collide as participants showcase their homemade flying creations. This event, free and open to the public, will take place outside the Tampa Convention Center from noon to 5 PM, with expectations of drawing around 80,000 spectators. However, attendees should prepare for significant traffic disruptions, as road closures will begin as early as 8 AM, impacting nearby roadways including the West Platt Street Bridge and Harbour Island Bridge. To mitigate congestion and ensure safety, the City of Tampa recommends alternative transportation options like parking in Ybor City and taking the free TECO Streetcar to the Greco Plaza. Additionally, visitors should be mindful of prohibited items, including firearms, drones, and large backpacks, to enhance safety during the event.

The massive influx of visitors is expected to create a vibrant atmosphere, albeit with increased pedestrian activity around the Riverwalk. For the latest updates on road closures, attendees can visit the City of Tampa's official website. This exciting event marks the third time that Red Bull Flugtag has flown in Tampa, with previous events held in 2008 and 2011.
