A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred in Bradenton, Florida, on August 24, 2024, resulting in the death of a 36-year-old bicyclist. The man was crossing 14th Street West around 11:30 p. m. when he was struck by a vehicle that did not stop to help. The Bradenton Police Department is actively seeking the community's assistance in identifying the driver responsible for this serious crime.

Meredith Censullo, the public information officer for BPD, emphasized the importance of accountability for both the victim's family and the community. Investigators have encountered challenges in gathering substantial evidence, as the time of night limited witness availability and traffic cameras did not record the event. The police hope that anyone with information, including potential confessions or sightings of the involved vehicle, will come forward. They noted that another similar incident had occurred nearby in May, but in that case, the driver remained at the scene. The community's involvement is crucial in solving this case and ensuring justice for the victim.
