A teen boy died after he was shot outside the Red Robin and BJ’s restaurants at the Citrus Park Town Center Mall on Saturday night, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies. Shots were first reported fired outside the mall at about 7:16 p. m. , deputies said. The teen, who was shot in his upper body, was taken to St.

Joseph’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:22 p. m. , deputies said. “This senseless act of violence not only robbed a family of their loved one but caused unnecessary fear and trauma to dozens of people who were just trying to enjoy their Saturday night at the mall,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister in a news release. “Our detectives are using every resource available to hold those responsible for this tragedy accountable.

” Detectives are speaking to several witnesses to identify who was involved in the shooting, a news release said. Chief Deputy Joseph Maurer told reporters later Saturday that two subjects were detained and that detectives were working “feverishly” to determine what their roles were in the shooting.
