Rainiers win season opener

In an impressive season opener, the Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Round Rock Express 6-1, showcasing their talent and depth. Logan Evans made a notable Triple-A debut, striking out four batters in 3. 2 innings. The Rainiers set the tone early, with Tyler Locklear hitting a two-run homer in the second inning. Round Rock managed to narrow the gap with a run in the fourth, but Leo Rivas' three-run homer in the fifth decisively broke the game open.

Young and Ford also made history by achieving their first Triple-A hits, while Williamson added to the offense with a hit that drove in a run. Blas Castano's relief performance was stellar, as he allowed just one hit in 3. 1 innings, effectively shutting down Round Rock's attempts to rally. This victory marked the Rainiers' fourth consecutive win on Opening Day and highlighted the contributions of several top prospects in the Mariners' system.
