Daffodil Festival kicks off Saturday, April 5
The Daffodil Festival, a vibrant tradition in Pierce County, is gearing up to commence on April 5, 2025, celebrating its 92nd year of honoring spring's arrival. The festival's Grand Floral Parade will launch from downtown Tacoma at 10:15 a. m. , showcasing the Royal Court of high school students dressed in bright yellow gowns and tiaras. This year's President, Marin Sasaki-Boyce, who has a personal connection to the festival as a former Daffodil Queen, highlights the dedication and generosity of the 23 princesses representing local high schools.
The event not only marks the changing seasons but also fosters community spirit and engagement among youth. On March 18, a proclamation was presented by the Pierce County Executive and Council, designating the Royal Court as "Official Ambassadors of Pierce County, Washington. " The festival's enduring legacy is a testament to its importance within the community, as it connects generations through shared experiences and celebrations. Sasaki-Boyce’s commitment to the festival underscores its role in preserving local culture. The Daffodil Festival promises a day of joy and camaraderie, reinforcing its status as a beloved local event.
