A three-car accident on northbound state Route 161 in South Hill disrupted traffic on Friday, leading to minor injuries. The crash was reported at 10:58 a. m. near milepost 24. 24, affecting the right turn lane.

The Washington State Department of Transportation, alongside the Washington State Patrol and Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, responded quickly to the scene. Emergency crews from Central Pierce & Fire managed traffic and stabilized the vehicles, with one person requiring hospitalization. As the situation developed, drivers were urged to steer clear of the area for safety. An update from WSDOT Tacoma at 1:10 p. m.
