The Board voted unanimously on December 20, 2024, to select her from four finalists interviewed previously. Lee is an electoral program manager for Sage Leaders, where she supports candidates from marginalized communities. Additionally, she serves on the Active Lifestyles and Community Wellness Advisory Council and is a cohort advisor for the nonprofit Magic Cabinet. As a first-generation Vietnamese American, Lee emphasizes the importance of cultural understanding in fostering community connections.

Her term will last until 2025, and the Board is actively seeking to fill two more vacancies. The application process remains open, inviting diverse candidates to contribute to the Board's mission. Metro Parks Tacoma is dedicated to promoting inclusion and equity in its operations and community engagement efforts.
