Big Lots Announces Going-Out-of-Business Sales for Remaining Washington Locations

Tacoma, WALocal News

Big Lots is set to launch going-out-of-business sales at its remaining Washington stores, including the Tacoma location, after a buyout deal with Nexus Capital Management fell through. The company will seek alternative transactions to safeguard its assets, as CEO Bruce Thorn emphasized the necessity of this decision. Big Lots has experienced a dramatic decline in its store count in Washington, from 26 to just six, primarily due to economic pressures such as inflation and high interest rates affecting consumer spending. The Tacoma store is the last Big Lots in Pierce County and the broader Puget Sound area. Other remaining stores are in Kennewick, Longview, Moses Lake, Yakima, and Vancouver.

The anticipated sales will start soon, providing customers with a final opportunity to shop at these locations, highlighting the ongoing challenges in the retail sector.
