A drive-by shooting on March 20, 2023, has prompted the Washington State Patrol (WSP) to seek public assistance in Sunnyside, Washington. The incident occurred around 1 a. m. on I-82 when an unknown vehicle alongside a white Nissan Sentra opened fire, striking the car multiple times. Two of the four occupants sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital, with one requiring emergency surgery.

The assailants are believed to have been in a vehicle containing at least three individuals who fled the scene before authorities arrived.
