An 84-year-old man was shot outside the MLK Food Store in St. Petersburg, Florida, early Saturday morning while seated in his vehicle. The shooting took place around 5:50 a. m. , leaving the elderly man with non-life-threatening injuries.
Fortunately, no other individuals were harmed, although a nearby vehicle was struck by a bullet. The St. Petersburg Police Department acted swiftly, deploying a K9 officer who tracked the suspect, identified as Tyrone Church, 62. He was arrested and charged with two counts of Attempted Murder and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. As of now, police have not publicly disclosed any potential motive for the shooting.
