The Duke Energy Foundation is allocating $200,000 in grants to support Florida's economic development efforts, focusing on attracting new businesses to the state. This funding will be distributed among 15 economic development organizations, with the purpose of enhancing Florida's appeal as a business hub. The St. Petersburg Area Economic Development Corporation is set to receive a portion of these funds, totaling $12,500, which will be used to promote St. Petersburg and the Historic Gas Plant District to site consultants.

It is anticipated that by targeting promotional efforts strategically, the state can enhance its competitiveness and draw in a diverse array of businesses.

This initiative reflects a broader strategy to leverage financial resources to stimulate economic development and job creation throughout the state.
