Pinellas County officials and community leaders celebrated the groundbreaking of the Dansville Community Park, marking a significant step in the development of this long-awaited recreational space. Located in the Greater Ridgecrest area of unincorporated Largo, the park spans 12 acres and aims to benefit an underserved community that has historical roots dating back to its founding by an African American sharecropper in 1946. The park's design includes a multi-use path, picnic shelters, benches, and restrooms, which are expected to enhance the quality of life for local residents. Community leaders emphasized the importance of providing accessible green spaces to foster community engagement and outdoor activities. This project is part of a broader initiative to invest in underprivileged neighborhoods and promote inclusivity.

Local officials expressed their enthusiasm about the park's potential to serve as a gathering place for families and individuals. The Dansville Community Park is projected to open its doors in the fall of 2025, providing much-needed recreational facilities. Such developments not only enrich the community but also symbolize progress toward equity in public spaces.
