Snohomish County Public Works to Share Designs and Next Steps for Granite Falls Bridge 102 at Community Open House

Snohomish, WALocal News

Snohomish County Public Works is set to host a community open house on April 10, 2025, to unveil designs for the replacement of Granite Falls Bridge 102. Located on Mountain Loop Highway, the current bridge has been in service since 1934 and is showing significant signs of age and deterioration. With a length of 340 feet and a width of just 20 feet, it fails to accommodate two large vehicles passing comfortably, posing safety risks. The proposed new structure will not only meet current bridge standards but will also widen lanes for motorists and bicyclists, add sidewalks for pedestrians, and incorporate dedicated viewing areas for the scenic Stillaguamish River. Construction is slated to begin in 2028, with active fieldwork anticipated to last through 2029, while the existing bridge will remain open during this period.

This project reflects Snohomish County’s commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing community safety. Residents are encouraged to attend the open house to learn more and provide feedback. For additional details and notifications, interested parties can visit the project webpage.
