The Everett Public Schools Foundation will host a free annual fundraiser at the Everett Civic Auditorium on March 19, 2025, highlighting the premiere of "Iliana Jones and the Lost Donation," a 28-minute parody inspired by Indiana Jones. The film follows Iliana and her friends, Markie and Tall Square, on a quest to recover a stolen donation, showcasing the talents of local students. With a fundraising goal of $100,000, the foundation aims to support essential resources for over 20,000 students in the Everett school district, including bedding and hygiene supplies for families in need. This year marks a significant milestone as the film introduces the foundation's first female lead, reflecting a commitment to diversity and representation. The foundation has shifted its fundraising approach from brunch benefits to movie premieres since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year, approximately $119,000 was awarded in scholarships, and this year, the foundation hopes to increase that to 100 scholarships. The event promises a lively atmosphere with performances from local student groups, enhancing community engagement and support for education. Kay Fantin, the foundation’s director, emphasizes that their mission is to ensure every student has access to the resources they need for success.
