Snohomish County Seeks Proposals for Youth and Family Resource Centers to Boost In-Person Community Services in South County

Snohomish, WALocal News

Snohomish County has launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) aiming to enhance its Youth and Family Resource Centers by providing significant funding to local agencies. A total of $500,000 is available, with grants ranging from $50,000 to $250,000 to support community services that address financial assistance and public benefit navigation. This initiative builds on the county's prior investment of $1. 8 million, which successfully assisted nearly 2,700 individuals across 859 unique households in the first nine months of 2022. Notably, 77 percent of those served were low-income, and the initiative also emphasized support for families of color and Hispanic or Latino households.

The Office of Recovery & Resilience, created by Executive Dave Somers, is focused on ensuring that federal pandemic relief funds are distributed quickly and equitably. Organizations interested in applying can access the RFP through the county's website and must submit their proposals by 4:00 p. m. on January 20, 2023. This effort underscores the county's commitment to enhancing community support and resilience in the wake of the pandemic.

For more information on recovery efforts, the county's dedicated recovery webpage is available for public access.
