Nominations open for adult and youth Shoreline Community Champion Awards

Shoreline, WALocal News

The City of Shoreline is currently accepting nominations for the 2nd Annual Community Champion Award, which recognizes individuals whose efforts significantly enhance the local community. The award underscores a commitment to anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion, while also encouraging community participation and inspiring others to get involved. A Youth Community Champion Award is also available for those aged 25 and under, highlighting the contributions of younger community members. Winners will be honored at a banquet on August 15, 2025, alongside the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce’s businessperson of the year award. Shoreline Mayor Chris Roberts is set to announce the finalists during the City’s State of the City event on June 12.

This event is a great opportunity to celebrate not only the award recipients but also the volunteers who play a crucial role in making Shoreline a welcoming place for all. For those interested in nominating someone deserving, an online form is available, and paper nominations can be requested by contacting Mallory Van Abbema. This initiative reflects the community's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and recognizing the valuable contributions of its members.
