Broadways ComedyBar is now Emerald City Comedy Club and is taking on A-list renovations

Seattle, WALocal News

The Emerald City Comedy Club is set to replace Broadway’s Comedy/Bar, which closed down after five years of operation. Owner Dane Hesseldahl felt that the venue had been underperforming and is now seizing the chance to transform it into a more inviting space for comedy enthusiasts. With renovations already in progress, the club will see its seating capacity increase from 120 to 250, allowing for larger audiences and a wider array of comedic talent. The sound system is being overhauled to ensure every attendee enjoys clear audio, regardless of their seat location. Additionally, the introduction of table service aims to enhance the guest experience, minimizing disruptions during performances.

Hesseldahl is confident that these changes will not only attract big-name comedians but also invigorate the nightlife scene in Capitol Hill. The club plans to host multiple shows each week, potentially bringing thousands of visitors to the neighborhood. The reopening is slated for April 24th, with performances from comedians like Duncan Trussell, Trae Crowder, Nicole Byer, and Jay Pharoah.
